Applying for Study Abroad

STEP 1:
Contact the OIE staff to review program information and
opportunities for study abroad, internships, service learning
experiences. Obtain an OIE packet with appropriate study abroad
forms.
STEP 2:
Meet with your academic advisor to select
courses for your program abroad.
Get
a signature!
STEP 3:
Take the form identifying your course load to the
Registrar. You must carry a minimum of 12 credits. Get a
signature!
STEP 4: If
you are receiving financial assistance, schedule an appointment with Financial Aid to review your
financial package. Financial aid may be used for summer programs
abroad but you will need to consult a representative to know if
using the aid over the summer will impact the following semesters. Get
a signature!
STEP 5:
Schedule a meeting with the Business Office to discuss
the billing and payment of charges for your particular program of
study. For consortium programs, you will pay L-RC the tuition, fees,
room, board and all additional costs of the program. LR, in turn, pays the
host school. You must make up the differential in the costs of the
two programs. Turn in a Power of Attorney. Get a signature!
STEP 6:
Meet with Student Life staff to make them aware of your
off-campus study plans. Get a signature!
STEP 7:
Bring the completed application form for the host school,
Study Abroad packet, all required documents to the OIE. Review the
documents with one of the staff. Get a signature! Mail the
application pack to the host school before the deadline! GET A DATED
RECEIPT FROM THE POST OFFICE.
NEXT: Enroll for GEN 200: International
Education (1CH). Required of all students going ahead for study
through L-RC approved programs. Consult Deadlines
& Timelines for course schedule.
