Wherever you go to college, it should be
part of the town- not the whole town. At Lenoir-Rhyne, our students
enjoy being a part of the greater Hickory community and all the benefits
it has to offer. From the Hickory Crawdads (the local Minor League
baseball team) to the SALT Block (Hickory’s art and science center),
students here have enough to keep them busy on and off campus.
With movie theaters,
bowling alleys, a mall and all the restaurants you can imagine, Hickory
has everything you’d expect from a metropolitan area but with a small
town feel. Our students are welcome at the local coffee houses, pool
halls and theater productions, just like community members are welcome
on our campus.
Our students also find
fun outside of Hickory. Less than an hour’s drive will put them in
Charlotte, Asheville or the High Country, with access to skiing, hiking,
and camping. We even offer classes that take the students to the
slopes. So whether it’s the excitement of Downtown or the calm of the
mountains that draws you, coming to college in Hickory is definitely
worth the trip. |
