mathematics (Algebra I and II and geometry), one in science, one in
American history and two in a foreign language. An average of four
preparatory courses each year is required. Prospective nursing majors
must have one year of chemistry.
Transfer applicants must hold a cumulative GPA of 2.0 (C average). If

completed, high schools records will be reviewed.
A complete admissions file for L-R will include an application,
scholarship application, high school records, SAT/ACT scores and a list
of senior classes (for High school applicants). Transfer students
should have on file official copies of transcripts from all
colleges previously attended.

Tell me about housing
After you are accepted and send in your deposit to secure your place in
the class, you will be sent housing preference forms by the Office of
Residence Life. On these forms, you will indicate your preferences, and
Residence Life will match you with a roommate whose preferences
correspond with yours.
The forms will ask you about your sleeping and studying habits, your
preferences regarding smoking, etc. Send your housing preference forms
in as soon as possible to ensure that you will be matched with the best
possible roommate for you. Residence hall choices are honored in order
of receipt of enrollment deposits.
Do students feel safe at L-R?
Yes. Security is 24/7 here at L-R. As you walk around campus, you’ll see
all sorts of safety precautions being taken. Around campus, you will see
emergency telephones. If something is going on around you that makes you
uncomfortable, just head towards the emergency poles and security will
be right there. All emergency telephones will give the caller direct
access to the security officer on duty and will permit the caller to
dial 911.
What about Greek life, clubs and other
organizations?
Another area of interest for many prospective students is Greek life and
organizational involvement. There are almost 50 clubs and organizations
at L-R including fraternities and sororities, professional and honorary
societies, music and performance groups, athletic and religious clubs
and much more!
What if I need extra help with some of my
classes?
Just ask. The Academic Advising Services Center offers peer tutoring for
core classes. Also, the size of classes at L-R is small, letting you get
up close and personal with professors who make a point of being
available when you need help.
