 Evening College is designed especially to serve
area adults whose work schedules and learning needs are best met outside the traditional
college semester and day school program. These students have the option of progressing
toward a B.A. degree at a more rapid pace than a typical full-time student
or of taking only one course per session. To

SCHEDULE AND TIMES
Each of the fall and spring sessions spans an eight-week period. Students have the option of taking one or
two three (3) credit hour courses on Tuesday and Thursday. There are also several classes offered on Monday and Wednesday evenings.
The first class on Tuesday and Thursday begins at 6:00 p.m. and ends at 8:10 p.m., and the second class begins at 8:20 p.m.
and ends at 10:30 p.m. Summer offerings are in two five-week sessions in June and July. (Class times vary in the summer,
however, they usually meet from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m.)

ADMISSION
To qualify for admission, applicants must possess a high school diploma or an acceptable score on the G.E.D.
Applicants should be at least 21 years of age and employed during the day. Applicants transferring from other accredited
institutions must request that transcripts from that institution be sent to the Office of Admissions before being admitted
into a degree program at Lenoir-Rhyne. Lenoir-Rhyne College admits students at the beginning of any of the six (6) mini-terms.
An application fee of $35 is charged for all new admissions. It is non-refundable and does not apply toward tuition. Students
who do not take a course(s) in a mini-term do not have to file an application for readmission to the following term unless they
have officially withdrawn during a previous mini-term or have been placed on academic suspension.

MAJOR FIELDS
The Evening College offers majors in the following areas:
Accounting
Birth - Kindergarten Education
Child and Family Intervention
Human and Community Service
Management
Nursing (BS for RN's)
All students must satisfy the general education and major course requirements for a
degree. In addition, students may pursue one or more academic minors from majors offered
in the Evening Program, which consist of at least 18-21 credit hours. The
College Catalog
details the required courses for such minors under the department headings.
Students may challenge and possibly meet various degree requirements by credit earned
at other accredited colleges and universities, College Level Examination Program
(CLEP)
tests, Credit by Examination, and approved experiential learning assignments.

DUAL ENROLLMENT
Students in the day program may take courses in the Evening College with the
permission of the registrar; however, Evening College students have priority for
registration. Evening college students may take one course per semester during the day if
the course is not part of the evening schedule. This course will be charged at the day
tuition rate. Evening and full-time students who enroll in five (5) or more
credit hours during the day will be charged full-day tuition.
