Alumni Volunteer Opportunities

Alumni Career Connections
The Alumni Career Connections Program is a joint effort between your Alumni Association and the L-R Career Services Office. Career Connections volunteers assist students in the following ways:

  • Provide information on their career fields
  • Critique student resumes
  • Identify individuals responsible for recruiting/hiring in their organizations
  • Forward resumes to appropriate officials within their organizations
  • Provide employment leads in their geographic area and career field
  • Help identify internships
  • Provide information concerning the areas in which they reside

Reunions
Reunions are planned by class members and are held at Homecoming in the fall and Alumni Weekend in the spring. Five, ten and twenty five year reunions are currently held at Homecoming with forty, fifty and Golden Bears reunions held on Alumni Weekend. We also are pleased to host specialty reunion groups such as basketball players, band members, choir, etc. periodically.  For more information concerning how you can help plan a reunion for your group,
email us at suzanne.jackson@lrc.edu or call the Office of Alumni Programs (828) 328-7359.

Class Agents
Class Agent volunteers are needed to help coordinate the efforts of the Lenoir-Rhyne Annual Fund within each academic class. Class agents assist the Annual Fund staff by personalizing contact with classmates through personal visits, phone calls and notes. In addition, class agents are featured in the Annual Fund’s letter appeals and help to organize reunion gifts for certain classes. For more information about becoming a class agent, send an email to parkerd@lrc.edu or phone (828) 328-7351.

Alumni Chapters
Help is always needed to assist in planning Alumni Chapter events. For more information, see the section on Alumni Chapters. No Alumni Chapter in your area? Like to start one? Just contact the Office of Alumni & Parent Relations.
