CERTIFICATE
OF PROFICIENCY
IN
ACCOUNTING
DESCRIPTION:
In
order to promote programs of
continuing study and career
development, the Certificate of
Proficiency in Accounting is
designed for someone who has an
undergraduate degree in a
non-related field or a different
business-related field and wishes to
become an accountant.
The purpose of the
certificate is to enhance
marketability of college graduates
who are seeking career changes.
Note: While
the certificate will meet the course
requirements to sit for the various
accounting
certification exams (CPA, CMA,
and/or CFM), the potential applicant
may be advised to take other
business courses such as Economics,
Finance, and Management in order to
master the broad competencies needed
for successful completions of the
exams as well as demands of the
profession.
