Snipes School of Business Students Bring Home National Awards

Those attending the Phi Beta Lambda National Leadership Conference are:

L-R's Phi Beta Lambda chapter recently attended the National Leadership Conference in Chicago, with approximately 1,600 delegates. Both the chapter and individuals took awards:

  • The chapter received the Hollis & Kitty Guy Gold Seal Award of Merit

  • Christy Harvey received first place in the Annual Business Report. There were approximately 50 entries.

  • Ashley Walker took third place in Impromptu Speaking.

  • Ashley Walker and Christy Harvey presented for L-R and received 10th place in American Enterprise.

  • Bob Simmons was recognized as the longest serving PBL advisor - 43 years.

Congratulations to National PBL Winners 2006

The 2006 Phi Beta Lambda National Leadership Conference and Business Competitions were held at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel in Nashville, TN from June 23rd-28th.  1600 people attended the conference.  1st and 2nd place winners from each state competed against each other at the National Conference.

Phi Beta Lambda Students Take National Honors
Several L-R Phi Beta Lambda students received awards and scholarships at the 2005 National Leadership Conference held recently at Walt Disney World, Orlando, Fla.

  • Christy Harvey received the Distinguished Business Leader Scholarship ($500 and a trophy), the NLC Scholarship ($400) and 5th place in Human Resource Management
  • Julie Lackey took 8th place for Business Law
  • The L-R chapter received the Hollis and Kitty Guy Gold Seal Award

Approximately 1600 students competed for prizes at this national conference. The Distinguished Business Leader Award was offered for the first time and Christy was the only person to receive it.

Congratulations Phi Beta Lambda Business Team

April Huffman placed 10th in the nation in Accounting for Professionals at the June 2004  Phi Beta Lambda Conference held in Denver CO.  Christy Harvey, Julie Lackey and Advisor Bob Simmons also attended the conference with over 7000 delegates.

The following members won sixteen awards in competition at the 50th North Carolina State Leadership Conference held in Charlotte on April 14 -17th.

Chris Safley Receives Graduate Fellowship at NCSU

Chris Safley, Accounting major, has received the Masters of Accounting Program Fellowship at North Carolina State University as he pursues his graduate studies.  Upon completion of the program, he will be employed with PricewaterhouseCooper.

Matt Brown Receives Scholarship

Senior AccouChris Safley, Accounting major, has received the Masters of Accounting Program Fellowship at North Carolina State University as he pursues his graduate studies.  Upon completion of the program, he will be employed with PricewaterhouseCooper. t major, Matt Brown was awarded a scholarship on November 20th at the APICS, American Production and Inventory Control Society, meeting.  The president of the Foothills Chapter of APICS, Jason Hensley presented the scholarship to Matt Brown.  Matt will graduate from Lenoir-Rhyne in December 2003 and will start a Masters in Accounting program at ASU in January, 2004.

 

APICS Student Organization Receives Charter
