An Interview with Natsha:

Why did you choose L-R?

I chose Lenoir-Rhyne for a couple of reasons. First of all, Lenoir-Rhyne is in my home-town. I wanted to stay close to home and close to my family. So, Lenoir-Rhyne provided me a way to do this and still get a great education.  Another reason I chose Lenoir-Rhyne was because of the well-known Education Program that is offered. I know numerous teachers who are Lenoir-Rhyne graduates that praise the education program at Lenoir-Rhyne.  Those two reasons are why I chose Lenoir-Rhyne.

What do you think makes L-R special?

The student-faculty relationship is what makes Lenoir-Rhyne special.  The faculty, especially the Education Department, takes an interest in their students and gets to know them on an individual basis and not just as another student in their class.  I feel if I ever have a problem I can go to any of my professors and get help or advice.

What do you like best about L-R?

I enjoy the small class size the best.  I feel more comfortable in smaller groups.  I also think I know more of my classmates and have made life-long friends because I have had numerous classes with them.

What do you believe has been your experience with your major?

Being an Elementary Education major I feel that my best experience is when I have been out in the classrooms observing and tutoring.  I think these opportunities have provided me with experiences that will benefit me in the future when I begin my student teaching.  I believe Lenoir-Rhyne has provided me opportunities to prepare myself for the future.

Do you believe that L-R will/has prepared you for your future?

The courses I have taken at Lenoir-Rhyne have taught me the knowledge I need in order to be a future educator but I feel it is up to each individual to take that knowledge and apply it to life.
