Exercise Science

Exercise Science Students have the choice between the Health and Fitness track and the Clinical Track. The Health and Fitness track is designed for students wishing to pursue careers as personal trainers, fitness directors, fitness instructors, etc. or cardiac rehabilitation. The Clinical Track broadens the academic breadth by preparing students for professional degrees in medicine, physical therapy, occupational therapy, or graduate school. Both tracks prepare students well for national certification with the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM).

What is Exercise Science?

Exercise science is the study of the physiological, biomechanical, and metabolic responses, and adaptations to physical movement.

What can I do with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science?

The Bachelor of Science degree enables graduates to pursue careers in areas such as health promotion, community fitness/wellness programming, health clubs, corporate fitness/wellness, strength and conditioning of athletes, personal training, and cardiopulmonary rehabilitation. In addition, a number of our graduates pursue higher education degrees in other health-related programs such as physical therapy, medicine, chiropractic, physician assistant or graduate school.
