Senior Fitness Program

What is the Senior Fitness Program?

Local area senior communities and churches, Lenoir-Rhyne College, and Erie County Senior Services have collaborated to provide seniors with resistance-band exercise classes that focus on maintaining and improving activities of daily living. These classes are taught by upper level classman in health and exercise science to provide students and seniors the opportunity for social interaction and to reduce the intergenerational gap.

What are the benefits of using latex resistance bands?

Performing exercises with the latex resistance bands will help shape and tone the muscles of your entire body in just a few minutes per week. Improving and maintaining the shape and tone of your muscles helps keep you functional and independent giving you a higher quality of life. The bands have been used by physical and occupational therapists for over 15 years. Thousands of physicians and health care professionals worldwide have been recommending this product to their clientele for rehabilitation and conditioning.

What's the proper technique for using the expandable, latex, exercise bands?

Check out our free visual Resistance Exercise Guide!

How do I store my latex resistance band?

Always store your band in an area of moderate room temperature. If possible, store in a darkened area such as a closet. Never store band in an area of direct sunlight because long exposure will cause damage to the latex.
