Sports Management

The Bachelor of Arts in Sports Management is designed for the student seeking employment in sports administration, health and fitness centers, resort management, sporting goods retail, and sports public relations. The qualified student can gain practical experiences working within the Lenoir-Rhyne Athletics Department and Intramural program in addition to area sports facilities and organizations such as the Hickory Crawdads baseball team, a Class A affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates franchise, The Greater Hickory Classic at Rock Barn, a local PGA Champions Tour event, local branches of the YMCA, and the City of Hickory Department of Parks and Recreation.  Previous Sports Management students from Lenoir-Rhyne have also completed internships with NCAA Division I schools and conferences, NASCAR teams, and local and regional sporting good outlets and sales representatives.

The interdisciplinary study provided with this program allows high quality professionals to enter the job market or further their study with graduate work. Community internships and classwork provide the strong base needed for successful entry into the professional world.
