Peter J. Kendall

Vice President for Administration & Finance
 

Peter J. Kendall was born in Minneapolis, MN on March 30, 1960.  He was raised in St. Peter, MN and attended St. Peter High School.  He received his BA (Cum Laude) from Luther University, Decorah, IA in 1982.  Peter attended the University of Minnesota from 1983-1986 and received a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from the Carlson School of Management and a Masters in Healthcare Administration (MHA) from the School of Public Health in 1986.  Upon completion of his masters degrees, Peter served as a post-graduate administrative fellow with Legacy Health System, a not-for-profit, multi-hospital system in Portland, OR from 1986-1988. 

 

Peter served as Assistant Executive Director of the Children’s Hospital and Adjunct Instructor in the healthcare administration program at Ohio State University in Columbus, OH from 1988 to 1995.  In 1995, he accepted a position as Senior Assistant Hospital Director of the Medical University of Georgia in Augusta, GA.  In 1997 he was also appointed as Assistant Dean for Clinical Activities in the School of Allied Health Sciences at the Medical University of Georgia.  In September of 2002, Peter accepted the position of Vice President for Administration and Finance at Lenoir-Rhyne University in Hickory, NC.  In this role, he is responsible for all financial and general administrative functions of the college.

 

Peter lives in Hickory, NC and has two sons Erik and Mark.  Erik attends Elon University and Mark attends Hickory High School.  Peter is a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, the Hickory Rotary Club and serves as a board
member and past-chair of the Hickory Metropolitan Higher Education Center. Peter has been active with the United Way, The Ronald McDonald House and various other community service organizations in the past.  He is a current
member of the National Association of College and University Business Officers (NACUBO) and a past member and diplomat of the American College of Health Care Executives (ACHE).
