Competition

(Convo
Credit: Wild Card)
All
Lenoir-Rhyne students currently completing an
honors thesis are invited to present. Time for
each presentation depends on number of
entrants. A
panel of faculty will judge the quality of the
theses and choose the best all-around thesis,
and a second and third place thesis. There
will also be monetary awards for each winner,
as follows.
Award for
best all-around thesis: $250
2nd Place:
$150
3rd Place:
$100
Theses
will be judged on the following criteria:
overall quality of scholarship, clarity of
presentation, and student's depth of understanding
of the work. Winners will be announced during
the honors convocation, Wednesday, April 29 at
9:20 a.m. in P.E. Monroe Auditorium.
Advice
to presenters: Your goal is to give a
short summary of your thesis, to a general
college audience. Within that guideline, you
may choose to highlight information that you
find most interesting and/or important. You
may use PowerPoint if you desire. Use the
information in the paragraph above (which
outlines the judging criteria) when planning
your presentation. Overall, please enjoy this
experience. We thank you for sharing your work
with the community.
