Tuition Remission to Lenoir-Rhyne University
Tuition remission is a benefit of half-time or greater employment at Lenoir-Rhyne University. It is just what its name implies: tuition is forgiven. Tuition remission generally does not apply to registration fees, books, lab fees, or other special charges. It applies just to tuition.
A number of specific limitations apply. Some examples are that tuition remission is limited for persons already holding a baccalaureate degree; it applies only for employee and spouse for master degree programs, not for dependent children; it does not apply to private instruction or off-campus experiences; there are specific definitions of dependent children’s eligibility. For details, contact the Financial Aid office at telephone extension 7304 or email finaid@lrc.edu
It is necessary to work at the college for six months before earning any tuition remission. With the first registration following your six-month anniversary you will be eligible for up to six credit hours of free tuition. You, your spouse, or your dependent child may use it. After a full year of employment you will be eligible for full tuition remission.
Persons working at least half-time qualify for this benefit. If you work at least half-time but not full-time, you will earn half-time tuition remission. That is, after six months you will be eligible for up to three credit hours, and after a full year you will be eligible for up to six credit hours per semester.
