XI. ADMINISTRATIVE ORGANIZATION
Lenoir-Rhyne University
is an institution of the North Carolina Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran
Church in America (ELCA). The Board of Trustees is its governing body, and
consists of 27 members elected to three-year rotating terms from among
clergy, business, and civic leaders, plus the President of the college and
Bishop of the Synod. A designated number of the members of the Board of
Trustees must be ordained clergy in the North Carolina Synod of the ELCA or
communicant lay members of Lutheran congregations.
