Opportunities
Abroad
For language students at Lenoir-Rhyne, there are many
opportunities beyond the on-campus classroom setting. Since 1979, we
have awarded more than $125,000 in scholarships to 160 students for
study abroad.
Students
may study in a foreign country for a summer, a semester, or an entire
year. Thus far, our students have studied in France, Canada, Belgium,
Germany, Austria, Italy, Mexico, Spain, Venezuela, and Costa Rica. Students
in French have unique cultural and linguistic opportunities to study
at Lenoir-Rhyne's sister campus in Aix-en-Provence, France. In the summer
of 1995, we established our own nine-week program for Spanish studies
at the University of Azuay, in Cuenca, Ecuador, under the direction
of our Spanish professors. Study-abroad programs provide an exciting,
enjoyable academic experience enhanced by extra-curricular travel activities
and the opportunity to live with native families.
