Center for Theology offers monthly colloquium
The Lenoir-Rhyne College Center for Theology will offer a monthly colloquium during the 2006-2007 academic year to discuss various religious topics. The ecumenical group gathers once a month, usually the first Thursday of the month, to discuss a paper mailed the week before for reading and examination.
Anyone may participate in the free discussion group, which meets at 4 p.m. on the scheduled dates. The discussion leader for these meetings is Dr. Larry Yoder, professor of religion at Lenoir-Rhyne College.
The first colloquium is scheduled for Sept. 7. Additional meeting dates are: Oct. 5, Nov. 2, and Dec. 7 in 2006; and Jan. 11, Feb. 1, March 1, and April 12 in 2007. (The April meeting is postponed one week since the first Thursday in that month is Maundy Thursday.)
To receive the monthly papers in advance of the meetings, simply let the L-R Center for Theology know you would like papers mailed to you. Those who have e-mail may receive the papers electronically. Each session meets from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. in the Bears’ Lair on campus.
