Lenoir-Rhyne instrumental ensembles to present fall concert

The Lenoir-Rhyne College Jazz Ensemble and Saxophone Ensemble present their fall concert, Saturday, Dec. 9, at 8 p.m. in the Belk Centrum, located at 628 7th Ave. Place NE in Hickory.

The concert is free and open to the public. The Jazz Ensemble, conducted by Dr. Christopher Nigrelli, will include works by Basie, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Horace Silver, Tom Davis, and Matt Harris, and Jim Martin. It will also feature woodwind faculty member Dr. David Kirby, and vocalist Felisha Macon, in selections by Ellington.

The Saxophone Ensemble is conducted by Dr. David Kirby. Its portion of the concert will include works by Lennie Niehaus, Mike Mower, and Dave Brubeck.
