International Students: Enrollment Checklist

Documents Required for Admission to Lenoir-Rhyne University (L-RC)
If you are not a U.S. citizen or were educated outside the United States, you must submit the following documents to be admitted to L-RC. For further information, call the Office for International Education (828) 328-7160 or email us at oie@lrc.edu.

1. A completed application for admission

q       Undergraduate Application for Admission

q       Graduate Application for Admission

2. A non-refundable check or money order for $35 payable to Lenoir-Rhyne University for processing the application.

3. Proof of immigration status (if applicable)

q       Photocopy (front and back) of permanent resident card.

q       Photocopy of your visa and I-94 departure record.

q       J-1 visa holders: Submit a photocopy of your Form IAP-66 or a letter of permission from your sponsoring organization along with a copy of your I-94 departure record.

q       F-1 visa holders: Submit a letter of permission from your sponsoring institution along with photocopies of your employment authorization card and I-94 departure record. You will be issued a transfer I-20 document by L-RC

4. At least one of the following proofs of English proficiency if English is not your native language.

q       Photocopy of grade report showing completion of a college-level English composition course with a grade of “C” or higher at a regionally accredited US college or university.

q       Photocopy of transcript showing completion of an A.A., B.S./B.A. or higher degree from a regionally accredited U.S. college or university. Indicate degree(s) earned on your application.

q       Score report showing a score of 500 or higher on the written version or 173 or higher on the computerized version of the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). Have a copy of your score sent directly to the L-RC Admissions office (undergraduate) and School of Graduate and Continuing Education (graduate programs).

5. Submit transcripts and credentials from foreign universities to a Credential Evaluation Service approved by L-RC.
