What is podcasting?
Podcasting makes an audio file, typically an MP3 file, available online for downloading via an automatic "feed" through iTunes (or other podcast subscription software). This is also called subscribing to a podcast. You can then listen to the podcast whenever you wish from your computer or a portable media player. If you are connected to the Internet, iTunes will automatically download new podcasts each time you open the program.

What do I need to subscribe to podcasts?
You will need "podcatching" software such as Apple's iTunes, or a service such as Juice Odeo or iPodder to manage your podcast subscriptions. At this point, you will already be able to listen to podcast audio from your computer. If you want to listen to your downloads on the go, you will need to transfer them from your computer to a portable media device such as iPod.

How do I subscribe to a podcast?
Assuming you have installed iTunes (or other podcatching software), click on the iTunes button above. After you accept the subscription in iTunes, you'll receive new podcasts each time you connect to the Internet and open iTunes on your computer.
