The
social and behavioral sciences are concerned with human thought and
behavior as well as social institutions. They share the common
assumption that social behavior can be studied scientifically. Students
in these majors often go on to graduate school but many also seek
employment immediately upon graduation in business, international
affairs, politics, human service, clinical or school psychology, church
work, counseling, social research, criminology, and community planning,
among other things.
