Board of Advisors

The Senior Bear™ Program is a program of Lenoir-Rhyne College that has been developed through a partnership with Abernethy Laurels, a premier retirement and continuing care community in the Hickory metro area. Planning and oversight of the program is provided by a Board of Advisors consisting of the following members:

•    Community Members of the Senior Bear™ Program (4)
•    Faculty and Staff Members of Lenoir-Rhyne College (2)
•    Resident and Staff Member of Abernethy Laurels (2)

The Board of Advisors will meet on at least a quarterly basis to plan programs, review the services and benefits of the program, evaluate and make recommendations to the College on fee structures and develop long-range plans to enhance and develop the program. Approximately 50% of the fees generated from the Senior Bear™ Program will be used to fund the direct expenses of the program including planned activities, promotion and other events as developed by the Advisory Board.
