About
the Theme
L-R,
it's in U!
Homecoming
Saturday is October 4th.
The
2008 Homecoming Week is just around the corner, and we are
geared up for a great week of events.
The homecoming parade is of course a primary
feature of the homecoming experience and the organizations
that participated last year made the parade a tremendous
success. Once
again we ask for your support by entering a float in the
2008 Homecoming Parade.
This year’s theme is “L-R, it’s in U!”
The idea behind the theme is that once you become a
part of the L-R community, it (the L-R spirit) gets in
you. Therefore,
floats should reflect this theme.
The theme is broad enough to incorporate just about
any aspect of Lenoir-Rhyne, so let your imagination run
wild!
All
float entries must be submitted no later than 4:00
pm on Tuesday,
September 23rd.
You
must complete the parade entry form (located on the main
homecoming webpage) and submit it to
Christine Maack in the Office of Student Involvement - 2nd
floor Cromer Center/L-R Box 7161 - even if you submit your theme via
email.
Floats
will be judged on creativity, originality, imagination,
overall appearance, and relevance to theme.
The organization with the winning float will
receive a trophy, be placed on the eternal homecoming
winning float plaque and will be recognized during the
homecoming football game.
The
parade take place on Saturday,
October 4th at 10 am.
All organizations with floats will need to meet at
the Patrick Beaver Library on the Salt Block at 9:00 am to
line up. More information regarding the parade
procession will be disseminated as the Parade date
approaches.
