Rules and Important Information Regarding Spring Fling Saturday
April 19th, 2008

Your Campus Activities Board leaders have been granted permission to sponsor an event that permits legal-age students to consume alcoholic beverages on Saturday, April 19th, on the practice football field.  This means that legal-age students are permitted to responsibly drink non-hard alcoholic beverages during this event.  To promote responsible drinking, there will be a designated “ Beer Garden ” in operation between the hours of 5pm – 10pm.  Consumption of alcohol will ONLY be allowed in this specified area and during the set times.  Certified bartenders will be employed to both serve alcohol an ensure sobriety.

The Beer Garden will function as follows:

  • Legal age students who plan on drinking alcoholic beverages will need to bring their own beverages in an iced pre-labeled cooler and store them in the Beer Garden for the duration of the event.  Legal age students can share coolers.
  • Any cooler outside of the designated Beer Garden area will be subject to search
  • Bartenders will be responsible for serving students alcohol from the student’s own cooler on a 1 beer/hour basis.  However, persons deemed intoxicated will NOT be served.
  • Any persons drinking alcohol on the practice field outside of the Beer Garden prior to or beyond the specified 5pm – 10pm timeframe will be in violation of campus policy and subject to disciplinary action.
  • Any legal-age student caught distributing alcohol to under-age persons will be subject to campus sanctions and/or possible arrest.
