Associate Members

An associate member is a prospective member of a chapter who has taken the vows required in the formal Associate Member Cermony. However, he is not a brother yet, as he has not yet recieved the Ceremony of Initiation and has not yet met the requirements of the fraternity. In the rush process, a man has made some sort of impact on the Brothers of the Fraternity, be it positive or negative. If the Brothers of the Fraternity decide the man is worthy of being an associate member, he is given a "bid." It is then up to the man to decide whether or not he wants to accept his bid. If he accepts, he is then given the Associate Member Ceremony and thus becomes an associate member. His status changes to full member only after he has been initiated.
