A Brief Synopsis on Black Student Alliance:

Established at Lenoir-Rhyne in 1989, Black Student Alliance allows various nationalities, particularly African-Americans, the chance to come together and educate others on the importance of diversity.    Students who may feel alienated have the opportunity to get in touch with others of the same cultural backgrounds.    This gives them a sense of identity, acceptance, and social standing.

The goal of the group is to promote unity by building bonds first with the minorities on campus and then with the campus community as a whole.  It hopes to bring an awareness to the academic, political, and social aspects involved with various cultures, especially the African-American consensus by participating in numerous community activities.

Black Student Alliance is an inclusive organization that welcomes any and everyone to join and experience the joys of diversity.  Meetings are held in the Jerry Shaw Center, located beside the Theta Xi fraternity house and commuter parking lot.
