Soul Food Social:

The Soul Food Social began as an annual dinner in which local churches and organizations joined with the Black Student Alliance (BSA) and provided soul food to our students.    This year, however, BSA made it a monthly event; now soul food is served in the campus dining hall on the first Tuesday of each month.

Leadership Opportunities - Each year the Office of Multicultural Student Services accompanies several students in attending the Southeastern African-American Student Leadership Conference or SEAASLC, the premier African-American college student leadership conference in the southeastern parts of the Country.

Pulitzer Prize winner Alice Walker is a woman who redefines culture through her very intense, honest, and passionate writings.    She seeks to inform and educate the world on the importance of self-awareness and getting involved with creation.

Considered to be one of the leading female, African-American writers, Walker has produced a series of celebrated works that has spanned novels, poetry, short stories, essays, and criticisms.

He had a dream and took that dream and changed the course of the world as we know it.    Without him, many of us would be leading a very different existence.
