The Counseling Center The Counseling Center is dedicated to giving short-term, problem-resolution therapy for students. Students who have issues that require extended services will be referred to an appropriate therapist in the Hickory area. Most students who use The Counseling Center are dealing with problems (listed below) that are common on a college campus. Click on a highlighted topic below if you are interested in more information on symptoms.
Please understand that it is very normal to request the assistance of a counselor. A counselor objectively assists you in working through a problem. He/she does not give advice, but rather guides you in determining what you want and helps you create steps toward that goal. The Counseling Center is located on the second floor of Cromer Center. Office hours are Monday-Friday, 10 am - 3pm; Tuesday & Thursday, 8 - 10 pm. All services at The Counseling Center are free and confidential. For an appointment, please call 328-7252. |
